Altho Manhattan City is undergoing a lovely transformations, there is still life in the city. Some shops are unavailable right now but some are still going strong. The newest shop, New York City Lights, ran by monarch Serenity houses lots of nice artwork of NYC.  At very modest prices for these works of art you can shop til you drop and take a little piece of NYC home with you.
